Ceramic Bands

Ceramic Bands are used in applications that require a higher watt density
and heat than a mica band can handle. Ceramic bands from Complete Plastics give a wider
range of application that requires high temperature and longer life than is
need on Mica Band applications. If a higher heat is needed and a stable
environment around the heater is available then Ceramic Bands can
give you the best performance available. Ceramic Bands are also use in
application where large bands are needed. Some of the most common
applications are Extrusion, Injection Molding, Thermo Forming, wood and
pulp industries.

In application where cast aluminum bands and electric water jacketed or air
cooled heaters are used Ceramic Bands used as a good replacement. The
ceramic material is very good at displacing heat so the ceramics do burn
out. Also ceramic material transfers heat very well to the intended area.
The wattage of a ceramic band can achieve a temperature of up to 1500
degrees F. Ceramic band heater can be built very large up to and over 40 inches
in diameter and 24” wide. Larger can be achieved if the application required
it.

Ceramic Bands are very cost effective when they are compared with the life
expectancy verses a Mica band. The higher watt density, higher wattage
for faster response and increased control over the process. With the higher
watt density you get higher temperatures that expand the applications
and industries that they can serve, giving the ceramic band the best of all
worlds.

With all the capabilities of a ceramic band it is a very good choice that
offers value, long life, easy installation and cost savings that Mica Bands
can’t match.
